Welcome to St.Nick’s w/c Sunday 2nd March

Dear Friends,

The disciples’ mountain top experience in our Gospel passage was unforgettable. They cherished the closeness of God, the incredible sights, and the profound spiritual awareness. Jesus had taken them up the mountain, away from the crowds and daily distractions. They were filled with awe and a new understanding of God’s power and glory; they wanted to remain in that moment. However, Jesus led them back to the everyday challenges, reminding them to trust him even when they didn’t understand.

When we experience God’s closeness, power, and glory, we often want to stay in that place. Our faith is strengthened in these moments, and we can be reluctant to leave. We may seek such experiences and feel disappointed when we don’t find them. The problems and distractions of life can weigh us down, making us long for the mountaintop. But these encounters are not meant to be permanent. Christ calls us to be his people in the world and navigate everyday life.

Our spiritual experiences strengthen us to live as Christ’s people. We become more aware of our relationship with God, who loves us. Our connection to the world means we will have doubts and anxieties. Spending time in God’s presence prepares us for this and encourages us to seek him again and again.

With every blessing,
