Welcome to St. Nicks on Trinity 9, Sunday 28th July
Dear Community of St. Nicholas Kingsway,
I hope this message finds you well and filled with the joy of the Lord. This week, I want to share with you a personal journey of newness that has recently unfolded in my life. As many of you know, myself and Keenan have adopted a wonderful dog from the Dog’s Trust in Denton. His name is Rambo, and he has already become a cherished member of my family. He is a Staffordshire Bull and lovely.
Rambo is teaching me valuable lessons in discipline and the importance of slowing down. In our fast-paced world, it is easy to get caught up in the rush and forget to take moments to breathe and reflect. Rambo’s presence reminds me of the beauty of God’s creation and the joy found in simple, everyday moments. As it says in Isaiah 43:19, “See, I am doing a new thing! Now it springs up; do you not perceive it? I am making a way in the wilderness and streams in the wasteland.”
This new pattern in my life is a testament to God’s continuous work in us, bringing newness and transformation. I encourage each of you to embrace the new things God is doing in your lives. Whether it’s a new relationship, a new job, or a new hobby, let us welcome these changes with open hearts and trust in God’s plan.
May we all find joy in the newness that God brings and allow it to shape us into better versions of ourselves.
Blessings,
Revd Dr Augustine Tanner-Ihm
