Welcome to St. Nick’s for Trinity 7, Sunday 14th July

Dear  Community of Saint Nicholas,

Grace and peace be with you all! As we journey through these beautiful summer weeks, I am delighted to share the happenings and reflections for this week and the next. Let us embrace this time with open hearts and minds, eager to grow in faith and fellowship.

This week  we delve into the sobering story of the death of John the Baptist in Mark 6:14-29. It’s a stark reminder of the costs of discipleship and the power of truth. Speaking of momentous events, did you know that the first public library in the English-speaking world opened right here in Manchester in 1653? Let’s keep that spirit of learning and growth alive in our community!

On this day in 1969, the Apollo 11 mission was launched, marking humanity’s first journey to the moon. Just as those astronauts embarked on a monumental journey, let’s take our faith to new heights this week. Who knows, maybe we’ll discover some spiritual moon rocks!

May the Lord bless you and keep you. If you’d like to stay in touch, I’ve got a new number. Feel free to reach out!

In Christ’s love, Rev. Dr. Augustine Tanner-Ihm
