Get ready to ignite your spirits, because Pentecost Sunday is just around the corner on May 19, 2024! It’s the day we celebrate the Holy Spirit descending upon the apostles, and boy, do we have some excitement in store for you.
As we gear up for Pentecost, let’s remember the wise words of the Church Fathers. As Saint Cyril of Jerusalem once said, “The Holy Spirit descended on the disciples like tongues of fire, and they were filled with boldness to proclaim the good news.” So, get ready to catch fire with enthusiasm and spread the joy of the Gospel!
But wait, there’s more! Who better to inspire us with a quote than our very own namesake, Saint Nicholas himself? As he famously said, “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.” So, let’s light up the world with our love and compassion this Pentecost!
Now, I know you’re probably thinking, “Rev. Dr. Augustine, enough with the quotes already, where’s the joke?” Well, here it is:
Why did the Holy Spirit go to school? Because he wanted to get a little “ed-u-fire”!
Okay, okay, maybe it’s not the best joke, but hey, it’s the thought that counts, right?

Sunday 19th May, Pentecost Sunday and Cafe Church
Our service on Sunday 19th May will begin with refreshments, followed by a Service of the Word lead by our ALM, Alison Mills with readings and prayers from the Worship Group. Music will be provided by our MD and Organist, Ollie Mills, Plese wear something red to church on Sunday as we celebrate Pentecost!
