Welcome to St Nicholas Church – Sunday 21st January 2024
Dear Friends,
We are delighted to welcome our new Lead Minister and Priest, Rev Dr K. Augustine Tanner-Ihm. Augustine has written a message for our newsletter:
It is with a heart full of joy and gratitude that I write to you today. As I prepare to step into the role of Lead Minister/Priest at St. Nick’s Kingsway, my spirit is uplifted by the warm welcome and the sense of community that I have already experienced among you.
The past year, spent in the company of this vibrant congregation and exploring the beauty of the UK, has been a time of profound blessing for me. Your faith, love, and commitment to the Gospel have not only been a source of inspiration but have also deepened my own journey with Christ.
As we embark on this new church year together, I am thrilled to announce that we will be journeying through the Gospel of Mark. This powerful book offers us rich insights into the life and teachings of Jesus, and I am eager to explore its depths with you. Through our shared study and reflection, my prayer is that we will grow ever closer to the heart of Christ and be transformed by His radical love and grace.
Moreover, I am excited about the opportunity to delve into mission and ministry in our Burnage community. Our calling is not just within the walls of our church but extends to the streets, homes, and hearts of those around us. Together, let’s seek to make Christ’s love known, helping others to discover and grow in faith, and sharing the joy and hope that we have found in Him.
I am honored to be part of this journey with you. Your stories, your faith, and your love for Christ and each other have already touched my heart. As we move forward, let us hold onto the words of Colossians 3:17 – “And whatever you do, whether in word or deed, do it all in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him.”
I look forward to seeing the ways God will work in and through us as we seek to serve Him together.
In Christ’s love,
Augustine
