The People’s Emergency Briefing – Tuesday 20th October

When: Tuesday 20th October, 7pm to 9pm
Where: Burnage Library, Manchester M19 1EW
Tickets: Free, booked through Eventbrite
Age: Recommended for ages 16 and over

Burnage Library is inviting the local community to a screening of The People’s Emergency Briefing, a 50-minute film about the threats to British life from ongoing damage to nature and our climate.

The film features footage from last November’s National Emergency Briefing, which brought together leading UK experts in climate science, food security, health, economics, national security and nature. It gives a clear, measured overview of how the climate and nature crisis is affecting everyday life in Britain, and what the evidence says about risks and responses. After the film there will be a facilitated discussion on what it means for our community.

The initiative is non-partisan and is supported by Manchester City Council and a wide range of national organisations, including the National Trust, the Church of England, the University of Exeter, the Royal Meteorological Society, WWF and the National Education Union.
