Sunday 4th February

Welcome to St Nicks on Sunday 4th February. 

Hi St Nick’s Kingsway, 

I’ve become more aware of the darkness this winter. I don’t know if it’s because it’s been particularly bad or maybe there is a sense of maturity that continues to see the dark winter days and nights as a threat to human flourishing.

This time last year I was sat on the beach in Antigua reading a book and drinking one of my favourite drinks. It was delightful. But I think God has been teaching me to be “content in all things”. The Apostle Paul writes in the Book of Philippians:  I am not saying this because I am in need, for I have learned to be content whatever the circumstances. 12 I know what it is to be in need, and I know what it is to have plenty. I have learned the secret of being content in any and every situation, whether well fed or hungry, whether living in plenty or in want. 13 I can do all this through him who gives me strength. 

God is calling us to be content in all we have and have been given. This year, I hope and pray we as a church community would continue to flourish as we Know, Grow and Share the love of God in Christ.
