Sunday 23rd April 2023
Dear Friends,
The Emmaus Road story in this week’s gospel is like a dot-to-dot puzzle where joining the dots reveals the picture. The disciples draw on their past and recent experiences. They draw on their knowledge of Scripture. They add in their expectations of Jesus based on that experience and knowledge. The final piece in the puzzle eludes them until Jesus takes and breaks bread. Then the story is complete, and they see the risen Christ.
We are looking forward to celebrating Easter 3 on Sunday 23rd April at 10.30 with Rev.Augustine Ihm from St. James and Emmanuel, Didsbury. Our service will take place in Church. Readings and intercessions from the St. Nick’s team. Our organist and MD, Ollie Mills will play music for the service.
