Sunday 18th June 2023 (Trinity 2)

Welcome to our newsletter for Trinity 2 Sunday 18th June.

The Gospel reading for this Sunday is Matthew 9.35-10.8(9-23)

In this passage, Matthew gives an overview of Jesus’ ministry and opens with a summary statement, emphasising that Jesus acts out of compassion, his heart breaks as he sees people harassed and helpless. And so, as the good shepherd, he offers to lead people where they need to go – into healing and a new community of sharing and support for everyone, teaching, and proclaiming the gospel. Then Jesus gives his disciples the commission and authority to replicate and extend this ministry more widely.
Jesus sends us to get alongside people in their needs

This week, questions we might ask are: how do we share our story considering God’s amazing transforming story? How do we keep it simple and inviting to those around us?  (copyright@Roots)

Our service on Sunday morning begins at 10.30 am. We look forward to welcoming Rev Jan Ainsworth to preside, our organist and MD, Ollie Mills, will accompany the hymns and lead the music.
