Sunday 7th May 2023

Welcome to our newsletter for Sunday 7th May. This week we will celebrate the Coronation of King Charles III, on Saturday May 6th at home with our friends and family and then in Church on Sunday morning here at St.Nick’s with a Special Commemorative Service, delivered by the Worship Group. The service on Sunday will be followed by a celebratory lunch to which everyone is welcome.

The Archbishop of Canterbury and The Archbishop of York have referenced this historic moment in the life of our nation, which provides ‘time to reflect on our history, celebrate who we are and look to our future. At its centre is a Christian service in which His Majesty will be anointed as King. It will be rooted in longstanding tradition and Christian symbolism. We pray that this might be a moment for the nation and many round the world to encounter the person of Jesus Christ, the servant King, and hear His call to each of us to serve others. As we prepare for The King’s Coronation, may we seek to serve others, connect with our neighbours, and give thanks to God for the wonderful unity we find in the great diversity of our nation’.

Our service on Sunday morning begins at 10.30am.Our organist and MD, Ollie Mills, will accompany the hymns and lead the music.
