Welcome to St.Nick’s for Sunday 1st and 8th June 2025

Dear Friends,

Our gospel reading on 8th June,is a passage from John 14, it features is a moment during the Last Supper when Jesus is preparing his disciples for his departure. The disciples are troubled, struggling to understand what is about to happen. Philip asks Jesus to show them the Father, thinking that a direct revelation would be enough to strengthen their faith.

Jesus responds by emphasizing that he and the Father are one—to see him is to see the Father. He reassures them that His words and works come directly from the Father, and He urges them to believe in Him, either through His teachings or the miracles He has performed.

Jesus then makes a powerful promise: those who believe in him will continue his work and accomplish even greater things because he is returning to the Father.

Following this, Jesus promises the Holy Spirit, the “Spirit of Truth,” who will be sent to guide and support them.

This passage highlights Jesus’ unity with the Father, the continuation of His mission through His followers, and the promise of the Holy Spirit as their eternal helper. With every blessing,
